Longhill School CCF Update
The Government have recently put forward a proposal to charge schools with a CCF (Combined Cadet Force) £150.00 per cadet. They are also planning to remove our annual grant and charge the CCF for the use of equipment.
Over 90% of schools around the UK have already stated that this would result in the closure of their cadet units if this proposal was to go ahead. As a maintained school we would be hit the hardest as we could not possibly justify passing on this expense to the cadets themselves.
Our cadets truly love the experience and we have had some real success stories over the years. It would be a real shame for them and future cadets to lose it.
