Executive Headteacher Appointed for Longhill

Posted in: News Archive

The Governors of Longhill High School are pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Bradford as Executive Headteacher of Longhill.

Richard Bradford, currently Headteacher of Dorothy Stringer School, will take up his appointment from Monday 23rd November, becoming Executive Headteacher of both Longhill and Dorothy Stringer.  This appointment has the full support of the Governing Bodies of both Longhill and Dorothy Stringer, together with that of the Local Authority.

Richard will spend 50% of his time working at Longhill, with Ms Jo Cassidy managing the day to day operational running of the school in her continuing role as Acting Headteacher.  This is a temporary arrangement which will continue until the end of the academic year in August 2016, whilst Longhill Governors recruit a permanent Headteacher.

Brighton & Hove secondary schools have worked in partnership for a number of years and the Governors of Longhill are fully confident that this collaboration has laid firm foundations on which to build Longhill’s immediate future under Richard Bradford’s executive guidance.

The Governors are delighted with Richard Bradford’s appointment and that of Jo Cassidy as Acting Headteacher.  They would like to reassure all parents and carers that Richard, Jo, the Senior Leadership Team and the whole staff team at Longhill are committed to providing the best possible education for all our young people.
