Mammoth Easter Egg Haul for Rockinghorse Appeal

Posted in: News Archive

Generous Longhill students paid a surprise visit to the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton recently to deliver a massive haul of chocolate Easter eggs to the Rockinghorse Appeal.  Staff were delighted to receive the huge consignment of 278 eggs, which they planned to give out to the children and their siblings who were in hospital over the Easter holidays.

Students from Longhill High School held a competition to see which House and which mentor group could collect the most eggs.  They really surpassed all expectations this year, with over 100 more eggs donated this year than last.  For the second year running it was King House mentor Mr Matthews whose Year 8 mentor group collected the most eggs, with more than 40!  “Once again our students have really been on-board with this idea.” said Mr Matthews.  “It’s an absolute pleasure to give something back to the Alex, which does such wonderful work for the children of our City.”
