Marvellous Mathematicians Take Challenge at Longhill

Posted in: News Archive

Aspiring young mathematicians from all across the UK took part in the annual Junior Maths

Challenge this week.  The Junior Challenge is aimed at pupils in Year 8 and below and

involves answering 25 multiple choice questions, in one hour, under normal examination

conditions.

Our fantastic Longhill mathematicians from Years 7 and 8 were joined by some excellent

Year 6 mathematicians from St Margaret’s and Saltdean primary schools.  Nearly 100 pupils

from years 6, 7 and 8 participated in the Longhill event and it was great to be joined by so

many of our local primary children.  We are very proud of their efforts and behaviour and

hope that they will be rewarded with Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates once their papers

have been marked.
