Players Triumph at Badminton Tournament

Posted in: News Archive

Last week was an exciting one for Longhill High School’s budding badminton players.  On Tuesday the team, made up of our younger students from Key Stage 3, was entered into Brighton and Hove’s Badminton Schools Competition, which took place at Brighton Aldridge Academy.

Longhill High’s young team showed great determination and resilience when playing much older students. They didn’t give in and it was a great start for these young players.  Lots more to come, we are sure, over the coming years at Longhill!

On Thursday, the Head of PE had the pleasure of taking the Key Stage 4 team to the tournament.  They played excellently and represented the school with pride and honour. They all displayed the highest quality of sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament.

The girls went on to win the tournament, which was a fantastic result – well done girls!  The boys fought very hard and finished second in the group against a strong BACA team.  Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to BACA for hosting the tournament.

The experience for the players was one that will stay with them for a long time and we are all looking forward to the next tournament.
