Exam Results 2018
Today our students, parents, staff and governors gathered together for the collection of the long awaited GCSE results.
It was a fantastic morning, full of celebration for the successes of our amazing students.
Headteacher Kate Williams said:
“The progress students at our school are making between arriving in year 7 and finishing their GCSEs is improving. This year’s results show an improvement in the government’s key ‘Progress 8’ measure.
This bodes well for the future and builds confidence for all stakeholders. But with GCSE results down in some key areas, I fully recognise that we need to work even harder in future to achieve the improvements we want to see.
I’m pleased that we have seen improvements in all the key priority areas we agreed with Ofsted, including disadvantaged students and upper ability pupils. I’m also thrilled with some outstanding individual achievements, including a plethora of 9s and 8s for a number of our students.
I am very proud of our year 11 students and of all the hard work they have put in and I wish them every success in the future.”
This year, students across the country were challenged by the new and reformed GCSE’s and as a result they had to put in extra effort to achieve their goals. Many of them rose to this challenge and their hard work and dedication has paid off.
Throughout the year we have held addition revisions sessions to support them and the commitment they have shown will stand them in good stead for the future.
Congratulations to all of our year 11 students!
