On the 27th of September, Longhill High School held an amazing open evening! There were a large range of incredible, interactive events held for prospective students across all departments that were enjoyed by not only prospective students and parents but by our hardworking student guides too. One of our prefects said “my favourite part was giving tours. It was great to see the enthusiasm from prospective students enjoying the events.”

Activities were held in our fantastic science department including dissections and demonstrating fiery chemistry. Our technology department had fun helping Year 6s make mini pizzas, our amazing dance students showcased their incredible skills and fun games were played by all in maths. If that wasn’t enough excitement, the PE department displayed their equipment, including our PE students showing their trampolining expertise, our skilled musicians played music throughout the evening and our art department got a little messy practicing paint prints!

One of the parents said that she enjoyed “the wonderful interactive displays” and the “friendly approach from all staff.” Another told us that her family had a great time at the events, with one of their children even exclaiming “I love science!” after visiting our fascinating chemistry department.

We hope that the event was enjoyed by all and we look forward to holding another open event next year. It was a fun, fantastic time for all involved and we would like to thank our prefects and student guides for their enthusiasm and hard work on the evening.

See you next year!

If you would like a tour of the school, or have friends who would like to visit us, daily tours will be available from 1st to the 12th of October at 9:30am for a 9:40am start.
