An Exhilarating Experience for our Courageous Cadets

Posted in: Latest News

Our amazing Combined Cadet Force recently went on an exciting trip to Crowborough Training Camp and Pippingford Park for 5 days over half term.

They got up to a lot of exciting activities, including a 24 hour military field exercise where they lived out in the woods, patrolling, setting ambushes and even did an individual firing manoeuvre where they fired on enemy targets! On top of that, they had an archery session and on their last day enjoyed a challenging obstacle course.

This was the first camp for 13 of the CCF’s new cadets. It was a fantastic success with them all really enjoying themselves and throwing themselves enthusiastically into all the activities. A few of our hardworking cadets won shooting badges and passes, made all the more exciting as this was their first time shooting! Some of the more experienced cadets successfully stepped into command positions and made a fantastic effort achieving great results. What a fantastic experience our cadets had, made all the more rewarding for their hard work.

Special Mentions:
Abi and Gus, who got promoted to Lance Corporal after a fantastic few camps, showing great leadership.

Freya, who got promoted to Corporal. This is amazing, happening in a short amount of time but fully deserved and with a great future ahead of her in the cadet forces.

2Lt Judith Woolcott- This is her last official camp for Longhill CCF. She has been an absolute rock, someone who can always be relied about and always getting involved to enhance the cadets experiences. Due to her old age, she is off to pastures new, we wish her all the luck.
