An Outstanding Opportunity
Twelve Year Nine students had the amazing opportunity to take a trip up to London to visit Goldsmiths University this week. Our outstanding pupils were selected to take part in The Scholars Programme, an academic programme run by The Brilliant Club organisation who aim to widen access to the UK’s most selective universities.
The launch trip took place on the 5th of November and included a tour of the campus, a study skills session and the chance to meet and ask questions of the current students.
Our hardworking group were assigned a PhD tutor from the University of Sussex, Elle Whitcroft, who our pupil Shannon described as “really friendly and passionate about the topic”. Another pupil, Maddie, was excited about their first tutorial, exclaiming “the original comic from 1917 was awesome!”
The pupils were inspired by the trip and many commented that they were excited about future opportunities to study at University level.
