Celebrating Diversity in LGBT Club

Our LGBT Club meets every Friday lunchtime to create a supportive environment for our LGBT students. Ms Stallard, who runs the club, said that “it’s a club for students to be themselves without judgement”.

The club started meeting regularly last June and has increased in numbers. More and more students are utilising the space to make friends facing similar issues and find support. The excitable club members were eager to talk about everything they love about the club. They explained how much they like being able to express themselves freely in an accepting environment where they can have fun, get together and just talk – and were keen to emphasise how it makes them feel less alone.

The LGBT club will continue to run with some great ideas on how to move forward in the future to further support the students, such as seminars and discussions. We look forward to seeing what the future has in store for our LGBT club!
