The Girls Network

Posted in: Latest News

Earlier this month, 15 Year 9 girls attended their first session with Girls Network after school at Longhill High School.

The Girls Network is an organisation set up to empower young women and develop self-confidence, public speaking, as well as to find out more about future careers. The girls all took part in a ‘speed meet’ where they spoke with 8 different women who came from a variety of backgrounds and sectors. The group all had the chance to ask questions about careers, helping to improve their social skills.

The girls were very impressive and many of the adult mentors said they were amazed at the confidence of our students! The students were matched at the end of the session with their mentor who they will meet once a month for the next year.

Well done to all our students for being so impressive, and thank you to parents and carers for your support!
