Goldsmiths, University of London Trip
Twelve Year 9 students have been selected to take part in The Scholars Programme – an academic programme run by The Brilliant Club, an organisation which aims to widen access for outstanding pupils to the U.K’s most selective universities.
The group have been assigned Louise Elali, a PhD tutor from the University of Sussex who will teach university style tutorials culminating in a final assignment of 2000 words, ‘How can we define identity in the digital age?’
The launch trip to Goldsmiths, University of London took place on 4th November and included:
- A tour of the campus
- An interview study skills session
- A Goldsmiths information, advice and guidance session
- The chance to meet and ask questions of current students
Henry (Year 9 Student) said, “It was a good day that helped prepare us for what to expect from life at university.” Rania (Year 9 Student) also commented “The interview study skills session was particularly useful.”
The pupils were inspired by the trip and many commented that they were excited about future opportunities to study at University level.
