Headteachers Letter Regarding Facemasks in Classrooms

Dear Parents/Carers
Re: Pupils are still required to wear face masks in classrooms from Thursday 20th January 2022 due to the high level of COVID cases at Longhill High School.
Today the prime minister announced that all Plan B measures will be removed in England, with a full return to Plan A by Thursday 27 January.
This means that from tomorrow, Thursday 20 January, face coverings are no longer recommended in classrooms. However, I am writing to inform you that at the moment due to the high level of COVID cases in the school community this change would not be right for Longhill High School. Therefore, I am asking for your support for facemasks to continue in classrooms whilst I monitor the number of cases. Once case numbers reduce then we will follow the governments recommendation…..
