Dear Parent/Carer

On Friday 18th March Longhill High School will be trying to raise as much money as possible for Comic Relief, with this in mind, we want to try and get all our students engaged with a range of activities throughout the day.

Red Nose Day is an annual fundraising campaign with the mission to end child poverty by funding a range of programs that keep children safe, healthy, educated and empowered. In 2021, they raised a massive £52,025,485 for comic relief and as a school we would love to make a contribution to this.

On Friday 18th March, we will be fundraising through four separate activities:

  • Wear something red, pupils will be able to wear something red over their school uniform. This could be a jumper, hat, scarf, gloves or just a red nose. A small donation of £1 will be required for this.
  • Staff v Students badminton, pupils will be able to compete against their favourite teacher in a badminton game, prizes will be awarded for winners.
  • Fun run, after school starting at 3pm we will be holding a fun run for all pupils that would like to attend. We will be offering 3 races, so all abilities are welcome. Competitive race, fun run and power walk/dance.
  • Staff 8 hour cycle, staff are going to complete an 8 hour cycle throughout the day, this will start at 7:00am and finish at 3pm.

All donations must be paid via SQuid. This will be found under ‘offers’. If your child does not have a sQuid account please speak to their mentor who can organise getting this set up for you or visit https://longhill.org.uk/school-life/payments/

We are a cashless school so cannot accept any cash donations, sorry for the inconvenience.

The day is guaranteed to be a really fun and enjoyable event for all pupils and staff, with music and prizes to be won during the day.

Kind regards

Mr Ford & Mr Hossack
