Do you have a child coming to Longhill in September? Want to help them with their Maths, but not sure what to do? Help is at hand . . .

Many parents worry about how they can help their child when he or she makes the move from primary to secondary school - especially when it comes to Mathematics.

If you would like to know more about the Maths work your child will be doing in Year 7, Miss E Lloyd (Head of Mathematics) and myself have created a section on our learning platform - learning.longhill.org.uk - where you will find parent-friendly explanations of some of the work that your child will be doing during their first year at Longhill High School.

To log in, simply follow this link to learning.longhill.org.uk, and click on login in the top right hand corner of the screen.

The login name (which is the same for everyone) is: parent6. The password is: parent6.

You can now access the Maths workshop, by clicking on Maths Workshop, which you will find towards the top left of the screen.

Once you have entered the Mental Workshop section, you can look at the resources by clicking on the links. There is also a forum for comments and ideas, as well as a survey for you to complete.

We are also considering running a Maths Workshop for parents in September. This will cater for all abilities.
