Learning Platforms

The term "learning platform" describes a broad range of ICT systems used to deliver and support learning. The government’s target is that all pupils will be able to access a personalised online workspace, capable of supporting an e-portfolio, by 2007-08.

Learning Platforms typically take the form of a web-based online enviroment where students can interact with their teachers, download assignments and hand in completed work. They are designed to extend students access to learning resources - not to replace face to face teaching and learning.

Longhill prides itself on technical innovation, and our Learning Platform is no exception. We're currently using the Frog Learning Platform, one of the most advanced platforms currently available. We're working closely with Frog and other Frog customers to ensure Longhill gets the very best from its investment.

The Learning Platform makes it possible for students to learn anywhere and any time they have internet access. Students who do not have access to computers or internet access at home can take advantage of extended opening of two computer suites within the school.
