Year 10 and 11 Art students

Letter sent to GCSE Art students

5 December 2007

Dear Parent/Guardian

Re:  Art Department visit to the Tate Modern – Thursday 24 January 2008

The Art Department would like to take a group of Year 10 students for a day’s visit to the Tate Modern Gallery on Thursday 24 January.  We will be leaving school at 8.40am, returning at approximately 5.00pm.  We will be travelling by coach.  We are seeking a voluntary contribution of £24 to cover the cost of the trip, should insufficient contributions be forthcoming, the trip may not take place.  Students will need to bring a packed lunch.  They may also wish to bring money to buy postcards of the art works on display.  Full school uniform must be worn.

This will be an invaluable experience for Year 10 and 11students studying GCSE Art.  It will give them the opportunity to view major works of Art that are internationally famous.  However, if your son or daughter chooses not to go it will not affect their final GCSE grade.

If you wish your son/daughter to attend the visit please return the permission slip below enclosing the payment to the Cashier’s Office no later than Friday 14 December.

Yours sincerely

Mr G Iozzi
Art Teacher
