Year 10 Visit to Chessington |
|
Letter to parents of Year 10 Leisure and Tourism. 19 March 2008
Dear Parent/Carer
Re: Year 10 GCSE Leisure & Tourism Visit to Chessington
Your son/daughter is presently studying for the GCSE (Double Award) in Leisure and Tourism. To complete Unit 2 Marketing it is recommended by the examination board that they visit two different organisations to allow them to ‘compare and contrast’ each within the coursework component.
They have already been to the Palace Pier in Brighton. However they also have to complete a second visit to another organisation. Chessington is one of the organisations identified by the examination board. While at Chessington they will receive a presentation on Unit 2 – the Marketing element and on Customer Service in preparation for Unit 3.
The visit will take place on Friday 25th April 2008 and the total cost will be £11.00.
We intend to leave Longhill at approximately 8.30am. Chessington are giving a presentation at 1.15pm and I think that we will leave at approximately 3pm. We should therefore arrive back at Longhill at approximately 4.30pm, depending on the traffic.
School uniform must be worn and it is recommended that they take a packed lunch with them.
Cheques should be made payable to Longhill School and have your son/daughter’s name, mentor group and Year 10 Chessington visit written on the back.
Yours faithfully
Mr M. J. Hooley Business Studies Coordinator
