Longhill High School PTFA (Parents Teachers and Friends Association) is an enthusiastic committee of parents/ carers, teachers and friends which organises fund raising events to buy equipment and resources for the school.
Fundraising activities range from Car Boot Sales, to discos for Year 7 and 8 children, and this year social events such as a Quiz Night are planned for parents, carers and friends of the school. The funds raised have recently been used to install mirrors in the dance studio and provided some of the Golden Ticket prizes such as laptop computers.
The PTFA also supports the school through activities such as serving refreshments at school events, for example at Parents’ evenings, and at drama productions and sports events.
The highly successful Longhill Car Boot Sales occur on the First Saturday of every month in the Spring and Summer terms and in the first half of the Autumn Term. Keep your eye out for them!
Over the past few years the PTFA has raised significant amounts of money to support the school but we would not be able to do this without enormous help from parents. Help is needed throughout the year, but especially for events.
We are a fully inclusive committee and welcome all parents/ carers, teachers and friends to join us at our meetings and events. If you are interested in coming, have any ideas for fundraising events or are able to offer any help (even just for an hour or two) or would just like some more information about the PTFA, then please contact the chair of the PTFA, Michele Lawrie .
