Letter sent to parents of students who expressed an interest in instrument/vocal lessons September 2008
Dear Parent/Guardian
At school today the Music Service gave a recital and demonstration of general instruments to the children and I am very pleased that your child has shown an interest in the possibility of learning to play one of these instruments.
Soon, a new instrumental class for beginners will be starting. The lessons will take place at school during the school day and no previous musical experience is necessary.
It is essential that the instrumental teacher has the opportunity to talk to you about your child’s lessons and I will be holding a parents’ meeting at school on Tuesday 9 September at 6pm where the following issues will be discussed.
• Fees • Instruments • Music • Practising • Style of lessons • General music provision at Longhill
Learning to play a musical instrument can be a challenging and rewarding experience and I do hope your child will be able to take advantage of this opportunity.
I look forward to seeing you and your child at the parents’ meeting.
Yours sincerely
J Reeves Director of Music
