October Letter to Parents |
Dear Parents/Carers
This has been an exciting half term for us at Longhill. Our students’ successes in GCSE and Vocational examinations have resulted in our highest ever upper end achievement. The numbers of students attaining A*s, As, Bs and Distinctions at BTEC are very impressive. Congratulations to all the students, their families and the staff who have contributed to this success.
The Contextual Value added (CVA) for the school once again places us in the top third of similar schools nationally and has improved our position from last year. This means we can be confident that we are doing the best we can for the majority of the young people in our care at Longhill.
We are constantly evaluating our provision and developing the curriculum to better meet the needs of students. The Opening Minds scheme is proving to be a great success, with very positive student and parent feedback.
The canteen will be refurbished over the half term and we expect a fantastic new provision for our students when they return. In the unlikely event that the works overrun the half term, I would like to reassure you that should it be necessary there will be appropriate temporary catering provided.
Thank you for your support and we all look forward to working together towards the continued success of our young people in being the best that they can.
Yours sincerely
Haydn Stride Headteacher
