November Letter to Parents |
Welcome back after the half term break.
We are looking forward to meeting our Year 11 students from last year on Friday 21 November at 6.30 pm. The certificate evening will take place in the sports hall and will be a very special occasion. This will be the last time that we share together as a group, as students, families, staff and friends. We aim to share our successes and our memories from the past five years. I am sure there will be sadness at the end of this chapter in the young people’s lives, but also a celebration of their future.
The new school canteen is now open and is a magnificent addition to the school. I am sure that our students have already reported back to you on this new addition and the very positive impact it has had upon them. Work is continuing in the downstairs area where the take-away hatch area will be supplemented by additional seating. The area will be extensively refurbished with seating, lighting and re-decoration. We hope that within the next year work will start on a comprehensive improvement to the capacity for our food service provisions.
Year 11 Parents Evening on Thursday 6 November is an important date for our current students and we look forward to a very focused occasion where we can identify the strategies that will enable our young people to be supported in their determination to be the best they can.
The next PTFA meeting is on Tuesday 18 November between 7.00 & 8.00 pm in the new canteen. This will be an informal event aimed at providing a venue where Parents, teachers and friends can meet and build relationships. I look forward to meeting you then.
Thank you to the families who work with us at Longhill in support of our young people to enable them, and us, to be the best we can.
