Letter sent home to parents of Year 8 students regarding the Geography fieldwork trip to Birling Gap.

Dear Parents/Guardians

Re:  Year 8 Geography Fieldwork January 2009

As part of the Geography Curriculum, Year 8 students will be taken to Birling Gap to study coastal erosion. The data they collect will allow them to complete a National Curriculum assessment exercise.

On the day of the trip, school uniform should be worn during lessons before the trip, but students can change into suitable clothing and footwear for the actual fieldwork. Please ensure that your son/daughter brings suitable clothing for wet weather.

Students will be travelling by coach, leaving the school at 10.40am and returning by 2.35pm. As such they will also need to bring their own drinks and a packed lunch.

The dates of the fieldtrips are as follows

    8R, 8E & 8T        Monday 26 January
   
    8K, 8S & 8O        Wednesday 28 January

    8M, 8A & 8W        Thursday 29 January

The school is seeking a voluntary contribution of £5.00 for the trip and payment will need to be given to Mrs Hazell in the Finance Office by Wednesday 21 January. Please complete and return the reply slip below giving your permission for your son/daughter to go on the trip.
