Letter sent to parents of all Year 9 students regarding SATS Examinations April 2009
Dear Parents
Re: Year 9 SATS Examinations – Wednesday 6 & Thursday 7 May 2009
You are probably aware that the Government has decided that KS3 SATs are no longer compulsory although the school is still required to report Teacher Assessment marks.
To assist with assessing the students’ achievement levels at the end of KS3 Longhill has decided to run some of the SAT papers under exam conditions.
I am therefore writing to inform you that all Year 9 students will be sitting the following exams as per the timetable below.
9.00am start 11.00am start Wed 6 May Maths paper 1 1 hr Science paper 1 1 hr Thurs 7 May English Writing 1 hr 15min
Students should meet in the sportshall after mentoring at 8.40am for the 9.00am start and at 10.55am for the 11.00am start. They will be in normal lessons if not in an exam.
Seating plans will be available on the exam notice board on Tuesday 5 May. Please look at these before your exams.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours sincerely
Mrs J Woolcott Exams Co-ordinator
