Re: Year 7 Outdoor Education Activity Day at Cuckmere Haven –23, 24 or 25 September 2009
As part of the transition to Longhill we have organised a day for Year 7 students to take part in outdoor activities. Students will attend on one of the following dates as detailed below:
Wednesday 23 September- 7OR, 7WF, 7WN
Thursday 24 September- 7BC, 7SN, 7YA
Friday 25 September- 7HR, 7WG, 7WR
This day will be an important element in engaging our young people and will allow positive and lasting relationships between new students and staff to be built. As such we would like to encourage all our young people to attend and grow from this experience.
Students will be taken in their Mentor Groups to Cuckmere Haven, Seaford, where they will spend the day in an outdoor environment undertaking a variety of exercises such as mountain biking, climbing wall, team building, problem solving and decision making activities.
The day has been heavily subsidised and we are seeking a £15 voluntary contribution to cover costs.
The trips will take place on Wednesday 23, Thursday 24 and Friday 25 September. Students will travel by coach and will leave Longhill at 8.20am, returning to the school at approximately 4.30pm. Students will need to bring a packed lunch, plenty to drink and will need to wear appropriate clothing. Clothing will be dependent on the weather as the day will take place regardless of conditions, so students will need to be prepared for this. Whatever the weather, students will need trousers for the climbing wall activity.
Please complete the permission slip below and return it with payment to Mrs Hazell, the school Cashier, by Monday 14 September.
