Innovate

Introduction

In recent years Longhill School has invested heavily in the school catering service. The canteen was doubled in size during 2010 and a new year 11 canteen was created. The demand for catering services has increased with this investment. In January 2011 the school invested in a new cashless system to speed up the service in order to meet this new demand. The school recognises that there is still room for improvement and will continue to strive to provide an even better service.

With a service like school catering where we try to feed healthy food to a large number of pupils with varied tastes in a small time period there will always be some problems. However, what we would like to ask you to do is to let the school know about any problems and we will try to address them.   Transforming school catering…
We believe in providing fresh, healthy food at reasonable prices, in a pleasant environment that students can really enjoy. We also aim to offer far more choice than you would expect to see in a traditional canteen. Below you will find an online survey for students, so we can begin to gather feedback on your school café. You will also find links to our brand new online newsletters, one for parents and one for students. Enjoy!

SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey is a great way for us to get feedback from students. Students can log on using the link to the right, and complete a survey. We will use the results to work out what we are doing right, and where things might be improved. The survey is open to all students. It is very simple to use, and shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes. We would love to hear from as many of you as possible, so if you could spare a few minutes we would be extremely grateful. Hopefully, with your help we can continue to improve the service we offer in your school!

Energise for Students

Our new student newsletter is all about energy, and how healthy eating gives you a real appetite for life! Energise will be released once per term, and gives us a chance to tell you about what’s going on in your school café. In this first edition we are looking for ‘Energise Reps’, who can get involved with the school café, by organising focus groups, and putting together posters and articles for future editions of the publication. You will also be able to check your weekly specials online here, so you can have a look at the exciting new items on offer in your café each week. Click the link to the right to launch Energise…

Energise for Parents

There is also an edition of our new Energise newsletter designed specially for parents. Clicking the link to the right will launch the online publication. Energise for Parents contains information on the menu in your child’s school café, and gives us a chance to communicate with parents on all manner of topics. Again, this newsletter will be published online once per term. Like the student version, it will contain a regularly updated weekly specials page, so you can see the fantastic food on offer in your child’s school.
