HMS/CB

2 December 2009

Dear Parent/Carer

Re: Arrangements for the end of term – events and early closure.

I am writing to wish you a very Merry Christmas and to inform you of the arrangements for the end of the term.

On Friday 18 December 2009 students will be dismissed at 1pm. There will not be any hot food available at lunchtime, so students will be allowed to use their free school meals pass at morning break.  Unfortunately we are unable to arrange buses for this early closure, so you will need to make alternative arrangements for your son/daughter’s travel home.

The following is a schedule for events that will be taking place during this week:

Monday    14 December    Carol Service at St Margaret’s Church, Rottingdean 7.30 pm
Tuesday    15 December
Wednesday    16 December
Thursday    17 December    Winning House - credits - students to watch  DVD in the Hall P4 & P5
Friday    18 December    Last day of term - Christmas Concert and whole school assembly and presentation of the Golden Ticket award

The schedule for Friday 18 December will be as follows:

Registration    As normal 8.20am    Students remain in their Mentor Groups all day
Period 1    Christmas Concert    King and Year 7
Period 2    Christmas Concert    Mandela & Nightingale
Period 3    Christmas Concert    Pankhurst & Spencer
Period 4    Golden Ticket Assembly    Whole school
1pm    End of school day    Whole school

The new school term will begin at 8.20am on Monday 4 January 2010.

On behalf of the staff at Longhill, I wish you all a very peaceful and enjoyable Christmas.

Yours sincerely
