Year 10 and 11 Meeting Re: Opening Bank Accounts |
WN/ DS 12 January 2010
Dear Parent/Carer, On 20 and 21 January Karen Wilson from NatWest Bank will be in school to assist Year 10 and 11 students in opening bank accounts. Usually, in order to open a bank account, students need to produce either a passport or birth certificate as proof of identity, but if your son/daughter wishes to open an account with Karen Wilson, in school, they will not need to produce either of these as the school can provide identity credentials. The name of the account on offer is the ‘Adapt Account’, there are no overdraft facilities on this account as every transaction is authorised. Students who open an account will receive: a paying book, a monthly statement and a debit card which can be personalised. This is an ideal opportunity for Year 11 students wishing to apply for Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) in September. To receive EMA students must have a bank account to receive payments. If your son/daughter would like to take advantage of this opportunity and they are currently under 16 years of age please complete the parental permission below and return it to Student Services before Tuesday 19 January. Yours faithfully
