Re: Year 8 Mentoring Afternoon – Tuesday 30 March 2010 – 1.45-3.15pm
I am writing to remind you that there is a Mentoring Afternoon for Year 8 students on Tuesday 30 March 2010. This is to coincide with the reports that are due to be posted to you on Friday 26 March 2010.
This will give you the opportunity to meet your child’s Mentor. The Mentor will discuss the report, suggest where improvements need to be made and set appropriate targets. If there are specific subject concerns or problems, appointments can be made to see subject teachers at the Subject Surgery on the Monday 26 April between 3.00pm and 4.00pm. Appointments to see subject teachers can be booked by telephoning the school by 12.00pm on Friday 23 April.
We are certain you will find this Mentoring Afternoon a useful discussion time. The school will be closing early at 1pm for the afternoon and Year 8 students will have the option of staying at school until their appointment time or going home and returning for their appointment. All students must attend their appointment. The remaining Year 7, 9, 10 and 11 students will be given a Study Afternoon where they will be expected to work at home.
Please complete and return the attached reply slip to your son/daughter’s Mentor and they will write an appointment time in his/her diary. Appointments start at 1.45pm and will last for approximately 10/15 minutes. On arrival please come to the back of the Main Hall and you will be directed to your son/daughter’s Mentor. Ms George, SEN Coordinator, will also be available together with the Heads of House.
