I am delighted to invite you to our New Intake Parents Evening on Tuesday 6 July 2010 at 6pm. This will be the first time our new Yr6 students will meet each other, their Head of Year and their mentors, and marks the beginning of a five year relationship.
This meeting has been arranged for parents and Year 6 students only. Due to the limited space and the nature of the programme, we are asking all parents not to bring other children. This meeting will give you information about this important year. If you have attended a similar meeting in previous years then we would still like you to attend as there will be some new information this year.
Year 6 students will be taking part in an activity during this talk to parents, it is therefore important that they attend with you. Refreshments will be served.
For your information the Uniform shop will not be open on this evening but we will be giving further information about uniform and you may purchase it on Wednesday 7 July 2010. If you are unable to purchase uniform on this date, you will be able to do so from Monday 5 July until Friday 9 July (8am-3pm).
Please note that from September 2010 we are introducing a school skirt which will only be available to purchase from the school.
An induction day for your child will take place on Wednesday 7 July 2010. Your child will need to be at school by 8.45am. They should wear their Primary school uniform and will need a packed lunch and writing equipment. They will finish by 2.45pm and may catch the school bus if they wish.
We are looking forward to meeting you and working with you to support your child through this very important transitional stage. Longhill High School prides itself in our determination to be the best we can and trust that we will work together for the next five years to the benefit of all our young people.
