Re: New school skirt
I am writing to inform you that we are introducing a new school skirt from September 2010.
There have been increasing concerns about some of the skirts that our students have been wearing and we invited parents and staff to participate in a consultation period to give us their views. There was an overwhelming response from parents and staff in favour of a standard school skirt to be supplied to the school. A working group was formed consisting of parents, staff and students and as a result a school skirt was selected. See attached information. Please note that Year 11 students have a different option, please read information carefully.
Skirts can only be bought from the school. If you would like to purchase a skirt, please complete the slip below. It is important that your daughter has the correct size and length therefore she will have an opportunity to try on sample skirts next week. Students will be called down in turn for this purpose. We will then write down the recommended size in her diary so you can complete the attached order form. Order forms must be received at the school by Thursday 8 July 2010.
Please also remember that if you decide you do not want to purchase the school skirt, your daughter will still be able to wear black school trousers as described in the school uniform section of the school guides. We must point out however that only this standard school skirt will now be accepted from the beginning of September 2010.
You will be informed of collection details by the end of term.
