It is with a high level of excitement that I look to next year. I am confident that our results will show improvement next year and we will celebrate with our young people on Tuesday 24 August at 11.00am when their results are released.
The next school year will be momentous for the school in terms of the opening of the new block and the fantastic facilities that will be available for our young people.
Thank you for your support and feedback relating to the new school skirts. The new skirts will now be the only school skirt accepted from the beginning of September 2010. If you decide you do not want to purchase the school skirt, your daughter will still be able to wear black school trousers as described in the school uniform section of the school guides. School shoes will be formal black shoes, no trainers, canvas or sports shoes.
Some parents have raised the suggestion of potentially introducing blazers, if you wish to provide feedback on this or any other issues please contact your relevant Head of House.
We will be arranging a formal opening of the new building on Thursday 16 September at 12.30pm and will let you have the details shortly.
I thank you for your support over the last year and look forward to the next.
Next year will be my fourth year at Longhill and each year my own determination grows to provide for you and our young people the very best school we can.
Yours sincerely
Haydn Stride Headteacher
