Dear Parents
I am writing to inform you of the need to move towards a nut free school at the start of the year. We have an increasing number of young people who have a severe reaction to contact with nuts or nut products.
I have ensured that the school canteen and the food area within design and technology are nut free. Staff have been asked to ensure food brought into school is also nut free.
Please ensure that your children do not bring any nut related products into school, either purchased or as part of a packed lunch.
All staff are being trained in the use of the Epi-pen which is the medication to be used in the event of a severe reaction. We also have the appropriate number of trained staff for first aid purposes.
Thank you for your support in advance and working together to enable the school to provide a safe environment for all our young people.
