Re: Year 8 Information Evening – Thursday 9 September 2010, 6.30pm
The school will be holding an information evening for the parents of Year 8 students on Thursday 9 September at 6.30 pm.
This evening will cover:
• Important dates in the year, for example reports, Parents Evenings and Subject Surgeries.
• The Year 8 Curriculum booklet, which gives details of the Year 8 curriculum and guidance on how parents can help.
There will also be an opportunity for you to tour the school and experience the outstanding new facilities. We have extensive new canteen facilities, toilets, covered patio area, new classrooms, science practical area, updated technology areas, as well as a new block of classrooms, textiles suite and our exciting creative space.
Parents/ carers will also be able to collect their logon credentials for the new Parent Portal at the Information Evening. Parent Portal is a secure website which parents/carers can access details of their child's attendance and behaviour, as well as have access to school policy documents. Due to the sensitive nature of this access, we ask parents to bring a form of photo identification with them to collect their credentials - for example a Passport or photo Driving Licence.
