Re: 2012 Ski Trip - Italy
The ski trip is nearly upon us and I know that students and staff alike are looking forward to it with much excitement. Please re-read the information already issued at the ski meeting evening in November for details of required clothing, the journey and the rules that will need to be adhered to, for example NO SMOKING OR DRINKING ALCOHOL (which would lead to the confiscation of students’ lift passes). The following information covers the essential things that you will need to know regarding our departure and return. This is provisional but Equity are hoping for no changes.
Fri 10 Feb 7.00pm Students to arrive at Longhill School to load coach and organise luggage. 7.30pm Coach to depart Longhill School.
Luggage Students will be allowed one medium bag to go in the coach hold (with a completed luggage tag attached) and one small bag for hand luggage. Pack 1 pair of ski socks in your hand luggage for the boot fit on arrival. Wear comfortable clothes for the long trip, but wear bulky coats to save space in your suitcase. DVD’s classified 15 or below, may be played on the coach, but be aware that they may get damaged.
Remember food and drink for 24 hours (no fizzy drinks please). No sprays on the coach (see packing list). 11pm Depart Dover.
Sat 11 Feb 6pm-ish Arrive at Hotel. Issue/fit ski equipment. Dinner/Rooms.
Sun 12 – Fri 17 Feb Skiing and having fun! Contact between students and parents should only occur if an emergency arises and only through Mr J Hollingworth. He has your details and ours and has kindly agreed to liaise between us during this half term holiday. Remember: no news is good news. In case of emergency Mr Hollingworth can be contacted at the school between 8am – 3pm on 01273 304086.
Fri 17 Feb 7.00pm Depart Hotel (after last ski!)
Sat 18 Feb Approx 5pm Arrive back at Longhill School for parents to collect. We may be early or late depending on traffic. If there are any major problems we will let you know.
